Since April 2008 we have hosted many events in the lovely Virgin Redwood Ball, with special focus on social Argentine tango (a much more subtle and relaxed dance than the show tango which can be seen on stage and TV). We are fortunate to have had some of the most wonderful dancers in the world come to this town to perform, teach... and relax.
Sometimes we also have live music to enjoy the phenomenal acoustics of this ballroom.
Our tango weekends provide excellent instruction in the fundalmentals - which become more and more important the longer one dances. So whether this is your first taste of social tango, or you have been dancing long enough to know that we are all beginners, this is a great place to grow your experience of this most delightful dance.
The local tango community 'Tango Mendocino' is known for making visitors feel welcome. They host a weekly milonga on Thursday nights in Caspar (5 miles south of the WHI) and a practica on Sunday nights in Elk (45 minutes south of the WHI).
