Vivien, the innkeeper here at the Weller House Inn, managed The Ear Inn, a bohemian bar, restaurant and venue for live music and poetry readings during the early 80's in New York City.
Independent filmmaking led to a decade in Europe, based in Copenhagen, Berlin, Warsaw and Helsinki, during the fascinating period of change while the Iron Curtain was coming down.
Back in the States, Vivien became a landscaper, specializing in sustainable historical period garden design.
Upon the birth of her son, she devoted herself to full time motherhood for five years. A sworn polyglot, Vivien found an unmet need for illustrated books designed to help children learn second languages. So she founded Marcaronic Press, and published Jake the Gardener in English, French German and Spanish.
Vivien enjoys cooking, sharing and eating "slow food". She is a committed environmentalist, an avid cyclist, and enjoys blacksmithing with her son. But above all she loves to dance Argentine Tango.
It is with great delight that she works to develop the Weller House Inn, where so many interests can come together in the one place, and her nomadic intstinct is refreshed by tending to the needs of travel from all over the world.
Angelina has been the main housekeeper since the Weller House Inn first opened its doors as a B&B in 2000. She has seen this business grow and change; fond memories include the bed breaking down on the first night the first room (Aqua) was sold.
Angelina's motto, which we usually find occasion to repeat several times a day, is "Paso a pasito, mas bonito" (Step by little step, more beautiful). Often, we see fit to use the word "pasote" (stride).
Angelina is studying English at a local college, and is very active in the local Catholic church, singing in the choir and occasionally cooking fabulous meals for hundreds of people.
If you hear light-hearted singing during the day, it is probably Angelina making her way through the daily chores, cheerful no matter how daunting of work to keep our rooms fresh and inviting.
